Rising damp: The typical pattern of rising damp is high moisture content at the base of the wall which fades as it goes up the wall. Rising damp does not extend 1.2 metres above ground level.
The symptoms of rising damp:
- Damp, discoloured marks on internal decorations
- Blisters and disintegrating plaster
- Wet rot decay causing rotting skirting boards and floor timbers
